Our members are very generous with their donations and donations are one of our main sources of income.
Donations help us to finance some of our projects - all of which help to support the Settle-Carlisle railway line. For example:
- In 2011 FoSCL contributed £10,000 towards the refurbishment of the 'gateway to the Settle-Carlisle and Hadrian's Wall lines' waiting area and signage at the north end of platforms 5 and 6 at Carlisle Station.
- We contributed £15,000 towards the refurbishment of Appleby Station, a classic case of pump-priming by FoSCL - which enabled a further £100,000 to be raised from other funding bodies within a matter of just a few days.
- We contributed a further £15,000 towards the exterior redecoration of Ribblehead Station.
